Physical Therapy

Physical therapy programs are always individualized based on the patient. I do a full-body evaluation to make sure we’re covering every muscle and analyzing all possible sources of pain.

We’ll ask the questions of why this is your problem, go over how we can treat it, and put you on a program with exercises for you to take home. The goal is to treat the “why” to relieve that stress and find out how it can be resolved. More often than not, we’ll find that the source of the issue is not what you initially thought it was.

Every patient is different. The number of sessions is fully dependant on the issue, and we’ll make sure to discuss the necessary steps toward recovery during our evaluation. To find out how we can help you, request a physical therapy evaluation today.

Acupuncture

My main method of acupuncture is the balance method, also known as distal point theory acupuncture. This specialized discipline was developed by Richard Tan, who I apprenticed with, and focuses on treating the issue without touching the problem area. This style of acupuncture seeks out how each muscle affects one another and creates a balance between acupuncture channels.

On average, acupuncture can take up to 3 to 6 treatments; this time frame can vary depending on your injury and if you also need physical therapy to supplement it. To find out how we can help you, request an acupuncture evaluation today.

How Physical Therapy & Acupuncture Come Together

Acupuncture is great for treating pain issues, but my focus is on how to make sure muscles stay in prime condition. While rehabilitation aspects typically haven’t been a component of acupuncture, I’ve found that routine behaviors—whether it’s mechanics, what you’re sitting on, or even posture—can easily be the root of the problem. Because of this, I also look at the structure, areas of weakness, and flexibility issues—aspects that need to be addressed in physical therapy to make sure the pain doesn’t resurface.
