About Christie Hendry
Christie Hendry, physical therapist and licensed acupuncturist, has been an avid athlete her entire life. Sports have always played an important role in her life, and, naturally, this passion translated to a career in sports medicine when she was studying towards a bachelor’s in physical therapy at Pacific University. She also has master’s degrees in Exercise Science and Chinese Medicine, and is a certified Athletic Trainer with the NATA.

Since getting her bachelor’s degree, master’s degrees and becoming an Athletic Trainer, Christie went on to apprentice under renowned acupuncturist Richard Tan and also got her master’s in acupuncture and herbology at the Emperor’s College of Traditional Oriental Medicine.
To add to her experience, she has expanded her skills with other multidisciplinary practices focused on sports injuries and chronic pains.

With the goal to benefit the sports population, she is always seeking out progressive ways to improve her practice. While working on the sidelines of events and treating her own athletes, she explores new ways to solve problems with the influence and collaboration of other sports therapy professionals.
Hendry’s specialized combination of physical therapy and acupuncture has been a game changer for Olympic athletes through the last 25 years and the U.S. track and field team for 13 years.
After helping many place with season’s bests, personal records, and even world bests, she is now focusing her efforts on track and field and beach volleyball athletes. While she has had a history of traveling with athletes for events, her main office is located in San Diego where she serves patients coming from different areas within Southern California and further.
